De Courcey Bus Fare Changes

Good Afternoon All

We are nearing the end of another academic year and many of you are hopefully looking forward to a well earned break. We would like to say thanks to all the local schools for their support of our bus services in the last year.

We are making no changes to the current timetables of any services that specifically serve the schools, but we are having to change our bus fares. We have maintained the current local fare of 80p single for over 18 months but we are now going to have to make a revision. So starting on 1st September 2012 the bus fare for children under 16 will increase by 10p to 90p single per journey.

Following on from confusion regarding scholars over 16 years of age travelling at child rate fares, I would like to remind you that any student in full time education and over 16 and not in possession of a valid 16-18 nNetwork photocard will be charged Adult Fares which will be £1.70. I have attached the link to the Network West Midlands website for your attention http://www.networkwestmidlands.com/Tickets/ChildPhotocard.aspx All students MUST be in possession of a valid ticket or pass. In previous years we have not rigorously enforced this but from September 2012 we will be carrying out regular spot inspections and any student not in possession of a ticket may be asked to pay again. I will be asking the drivers to try and get the message across to students in the first couple of weeks but your assistance would be appreciated.

If you need any further information then please do not hesitate to contact us.
