A message from our Chaplain

At Blue Coat, we are proud of our Christian foundation and of the distinctive way it shapes our life together.

Our school vision, “Living life in all its fullness”, comes from the words of Jesus in John 10:10. We believe that Jesus shows us what a full life can look like: a life shaped by love, hope, purpose, compassion, truth and relationship with God and one another.

Our Christian identity is visible throughout school life. It is expressed through our times of Collective Worship, Worship Works, prayer, our CHRIST values, worship events, Communion and services at Coventry Cathedral, Holy Trinity Church and other churches nearby. It can also be seen in the way we seek to care for others, pursue justice, build community and help every person feel known, seen and heard.

Our worship is clearly and confidently Christian at its heart, while remaining welcoming, invitational and inspirational for all. Pupils and staff of all faiths and none are invited to participate in ways that are meaningful to them. They may pray, reflect, listen or consider the ideas being explored.

I am passionate about ensuring that everyone at Blue Coat has the opportunity to hear and explore the claims of Jesus: who he said he was and what that might mean for each of us. How each person responds is, of course, their own decision. At the heart of Christianity is good news, offered to everyone.

We are proud to be a Church of England school: rooted in Jesus, shaped by our Christian faith, open to all and committed to helping every member of our community live life in all its fullness.
